Visionbytes is looking for a J2SE/J2EE Java developer, of 2-5 yrs commercial experience, for product development in the media industry. This is your chance to join Australia’s leading company in digital video search and distribution technologies.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Product development in Java.
  • Requirements gathering.
  • Problem analysis, design and coding.
  • Testing, bug fixing, deployment and support.
  • Unfortunately, yes, you will be responsible for some documentation.

Commercial Experience:

  • You are required to have proven 2-5 years of commercial development experience including application development in J2SE and J2EE.

Technology experience:

  • You are required to have an excellent knowledge of J2SE and some knowledge of J2EE.
  • Experience in the following technologies is a strong advantage: JBoss, EJB 3.0, JSP, JSF, Facelets, Quartz and Hibernate.
  • Experience in the following areas is an advantage: Video and Media knowledge, XML, Web services, XSLT, Eclipse, JUnit, Ant

You will need:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work individually and within a team environment.
  • Exhibit confidence in dealing with various levels of the organisation both within IT and the business units, including executive management levels.
  • Listens actively and responds to others.
  • Lead and participate productively in meetings.
  • Ability to identify and analyse alternative approaches to dealing with issues and problems.
